Agh, it sucks when you spy a new thread that might be interesting, but when you get in there, everyone has covered everything already.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Oh, the tyranny of time zones. Nothing to see here. The tow trucks have pulled the wrecks away and the ambulances have carted off the dead.

Is this some sort of game?

I think some of these guys get into some philosophical conversation with their Dad in the car ride home from church or something, and they think they've come up with something deep. Then they come here, and everyone is running circles around them with prepared arguments, references to actual books, authors and thinkers, and an existing knowledge of every "new" argument the theist is working hard to come up with. And also, of course, theists are at a disadvantage because they don't really understand what atheism means to atheists.
Then the guy disappears to "prepare" and never comes back.

What do you guys think about the philosophical underpinnings of the belief that gained wisdom as personal proof can't be embedded as a subset of the way we think about the natural universe.
That was a classic quote from the revered ancient greek expert on animal husbandry, "FUKAKARKAS"
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.
