Proving The Resurrection By the Minimal Facts Approach

RE: Proving The Resurrection By the Minimal Facts Approach
There is no evidence. I've offered this challenge before, even granting every single assumption I could possibly give, above and beyond what is being claimed here and the argument was still "They are reliable and wouldn't lie."

That's not extraordinary evidence; it's zero credible evidence.

If they knew God was real, they wouldn't "need" to believe.
That alone tells me that there is no evidence for any of it.
If they had evidence, they wouldn't need to force people to believe by threatening them will hell.

It's the best business model ever made. They get rich by selling you "nothing" but you get the "flybuys" rewards only when you die.
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.

Indeed. They must have known even in the following centuries how poor the evidence was, as they went and forged a load of crap in various other historical documents to try and back up their claims.

I understand but its kind of like kicking a puppy that pissed in the house.

RE: Proving The Resurrection By the Minimal Facts Approach
My favorite part about this argument other than the title of the OP, is all the extra qualifying details to the Jesus story. They all seem to be addressing omitted questions and doubts that must have been around when the story was first being forged. While Christianity was first being pushed, imagine the push back that must have been going on, if the early Jewish and Roman believers were half as stubborn as today's Christians are when faced with anything new.

Had the bible originally said "Jesus is the son of God, said nice things, died for our sins, and rose from the dead three days later" and nothing else, you wouldn't see a Christian today. When the NT was finally cobbled together, it included things like "and his tomb was empty" as if to say "and before you even ask..." and "These people witnessed all of this" as if to say "don't believe me? Ask this guy."

There must have been some difficulty getting converts in the early first century.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."

For context, this is the previous verse:

"Hi Jesus" -robvalue

Ha ha, he has you all on ignore. So to his eye, you all have nothing to add but blank posts! He wins! His plan is flawless.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Well, he'll be very sad that he missed my conversion back to Chrisianity. It worked! You did it, Randy. And you'll never know.
