Do you have the right to be an atheist?

If you are saying that "A lack of belief in god." is Atheism.
Then Pool comes along one day and says that Pool lacks a belief in atheism.
Seeing how Theism is no longer existent.
Where the burden of proof now?

In this contention...surrounded by atheists who have told you as much?  It lies with you.  Atheism is a statement of a persons status of belief.  Either you accept that I do not believe or you do not, but there's never a point at which I must prove to you that I do not.  The situation is identical for theists, either I accept that they believe or I do not, but there's no compulsion or requirement that they prove as much to me.

You're confusing the situation regarding ones status of belief with the status of the thing referred to -by- belief.  People may or may not believe in electricity, and regardless of that status of belief, electricity does or doesn't exist.  Separate questions, you see.  So stop whining about the burden of proof and pony up some "god" already?   Wink

His argument is that atheism is illogical because theism is illogical, because atheism depends on theism.

No lol!You misunderstood me completely!

My argument is that atheism is illogical in the event theism is senseless and atheism still choose to exist rather dissolve.
If atheism dissolves then there is nothing wrong.

But seeing how theism is stupid and you haven't dissolved ....

Edit:

Theism : Cat is Dog.
Atheism : I don't agree completely or i disagree.
Me : Cat is Cat,Cat is not Dog.
Theism : *Doesn't exist anymore*
Atheism : *Doesn't exist anymore* (The appropriate response and most logical response.)
or
Atheism : *Still exists* (The inappropriate and least logical response.)

Hint:
You have to tell me now that theism is not stupid - that theism is not illogical to win the argument.
Or
You could tell me that theism is illogical.

Either way i'd win.

Are you trolling? Or are you really this fucking stupid? My guess is trolling since you chose to ignore where I left no doubt about the unsoundness of your argument based on your unsupported premise that theists don't exist.

Nothing you say makes sense. Don't even bring logic into it.

I'm done not because anyone has asked, but because it's a lost cause he doesn't understand the terms and he doesn't want to understand them. I still think pool is a theist trying to sneak god in through the back door.

Whoa. I think you misread my tone there, cowboy.
You guys are waay to literal. It's kind of troubling.

I don't think he's either necessarily stupid or trolling, he's just very stubborn and attached to his own way of thinking. This will change on its own. All I'm saying is there's no point in being so mean to him - it's no use for one, and he doesn't even understand you as you might imagine he would. I think we can project sometimes intelligence where there isn't any, and it makes us horrible, not the strawman idiot we set up to light on fire - see what I mean?

Of course, these are just suggestions. I obviously can't force anyone to do anything - the more hilarious your earlier childish reaction to my playful attempt at protecting a 'special' mind.

I think we should rather try to find common language with these people than just talk what must sound like impossible gibberish to them. I was doing exactly that when he agreed with me and now that's ruined - but of course it's worth it, if anyone at all will consider taking my advice and follow my example in the future.

 Besides, I'm new here
Take it ez

Cheers

I think you completely missed my point when i said theists do not exist according to logic.
People who think they are theists exists.Theists cannot exist.

Edit:
What i'm saying is correct. From my perspective most of you are rejecting it because it doesn't "feel" right.
I don't exactly know why you think i'm wrong though..
Everyone is saying "You're wrong" nobody is willing to discuss it and those of you that chose to discuss - i proved wrong.

The misunderstanding is not mine. One last time pool, a theist is someone who believes in god. The fact that god exists or doesn't exist is immaterial to the definition of a theist. Not only have I clarified this before, but I gave you a perfect example of a theist that exists. If you continue to assert that theists don't exist you will only further demonstrate your inability to reason.
