Finally got round to 'Mr. Holmes', the one with Ian McKellen as Holmes on his last case.
I am a tremendous Sherlockian purist, and tend to be unfairly critical of anything not in the Holmesian canon (Robert Downey, Jr should have been hit with a very thick stick), but this film was absolutely delightful. McKellen's Holmes is in the early stages of dementia and it is touching and sweet to see him a little more doddery than many of us are used to. McKellen is so good in this that I can almost forgive him for whoring himself out to the X-men franchise. Almost.

Saw Spotlight last night. Wow. Talk about a gut punch, even if you know the scope of the pedophilia problem in the RCC.

Rented Spy last night. Lots of language, but I found it surprisingly hilarious

Trainwreck. I enjoyed it. But then again, my movie watching isn't very sophisticated.

Spectre. OMG it was so boring.... Liked the opening sequence but after that I was more or less waiting for it to be over.
