Christians. Could you be wrong?
RE: Christians. Could you be wrong?
I didn't conclude that - I merely allowed for the possibility. That's when Occam's Razor comes into play.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

You still didn't do it right, because you stopped. That's what's so brilliantly dishonest about Drich's claim here: the moment you even consider that the process might have failed, you're no longer performing the act right. It's constructed not to have a failure state, because if it fails and you notice that it's somehow your fault. Rolleyes

Esq, why do you waste time talking logic to an indoctrated mind?!
They use the specially modified christian "logic".
What can be accomplished? "Your" logic skills are as good as they're going to get.

We know you're genuinely trying to help by pointing out fallacies, etc, but they don't want to hear all that. We have nothing to offer them which they can use to help strengthen their belief.

Well, I know I'm addressing their specific fallacies, but I'm not just talking to them. Someone more permeable to reason might read these threads, and I'd personally prefer that there be a counterpoint there to be read as well. We don't change minds by throwing up our hands and giving up.

Also, I just like doing it. Argument is fun. Tongue

How many christian threads relating to god stay on the conversation level.
I dare say, not many. They "know" we're unenlightened and we "know" they're delusional. And never the twain .......

No other religion makes that claim. Because they simply can't.

So what? You cannot perform miracles. That renders your entire point nugatory.

Reminds me of the Alcoholics Anonymous shit that my buddy had to endure a few years ago. "This program works for everyone that does it" ..."What about all these people that are still using, relapsing, and overdosing?".."Oh they just didn't do it right, even though they followed every word, said all the same prayers, and attended all the same meetings."
In every country and every age, the priest had been hostile to Liberty.

Actually you did not follow Luke 11 as outlined. If you had you would still be there doing that if by now you still had not heard anything.

That is the knock part of ask seek knock.

Read the story of the persistent neighbor again. He knocked till he got what he was looking for. You quit after the God of the universe did not meet your time frame.

Wrong. Let's put it like this: you don't know shit about me or my life, and you sure as Hell don't know the circumstances of my apostasy. You should restrict yourself to commenting on matters you actually know about. Speculation like the above tripe is not only foolish, but arrogant.

Your little worship-toy gets you through the night, I get it. Hey, when I was a kid I had a stuffed dog that I slept with. He made me feel safe. But even as a child, I was smart enough to see that he was not a real dog.

"Seek and ye shall find"

"I tried...didn't find God"

"You didn't do it right"

Because obviously the problem is with the seeker, and not the fact that we don't hear the same sky-vocies you do.
Noope.

Read what I said again. To ask seek knock as out lined in luke 11 is a three part exercise. God does not say ask and seek and I will come running. He takes the time to come up with a parable that includes knocking. Knocking in His parable is the key to the whole thing. I have no doubt that most of you who have ask and sought did so earnestly. Even so you all will be the first to admit that you did not stick around to complete the knocking portion of Christ's command.

If God tells you to do ABC and He will give you 123, is it reasonable to expect 123 if you only did AB?

I did all three steps, child.
