Baltimore to flood streets with police after rash of killings

Baltimore police will put more officers on the street to battle a surge in killings that included six homicides in seven hours this week, part of a wave of deadly violence not seen in the port city in years, authorities said on Tuesday.

Patrol officers and detectives will go on 12-hour shifts through the weekend, instead of the normal 10-hour stints, and all other officers will be placed in squad cars or on foot patrols, Police Commissioner Kevin Davis said.

Because any criminal is going to wait until a cop is present before killing someone.  I imagine this will do a lot for police overtime and a put a big hole in the city budget.  The problem is not putting more cops on the street the problem is getting guns off the street.

And because they are overworked they are more likely to overreact to a given situation. Great work Mr Davis.

How do you know he's "rare"? You do no research, just cherry picking the alt-left "news" sites.

Perhaps you could find a corresponding article on each topic you disapprove of with a right news sight.
I agree with you about the rarity of good cops. I would be as bold as to say that most cops are good.
Or even, they are human and I might not do a better job if I was in their shoes.

However, I don't believe that Min being especially harsh on the police force is any part of what stirs us up.
It's the articles themselves. It's the expectations that people have for the police in general.
I also think Min's harshness is just part of his thing, that thing that makes most of us laugh.
I don't want to dissect that too much as it may take away from the effect.
You know what I'm talking about Gawd because you're a very smart guy and funny.
I've seen you use the same effect.
But that's what makes your posts here seem petty.
Even a little insulting, like we're all sheep and Min is the shepard.
This whole thread is about looking at the big picture.
That there's something about the American policing system that isn't working, especially in certain areas.
