AF Biggest Loser/Fitness Challenge-May 3 to Whenever We're Not Fat Anymore

Thanks for the suggestion... I just looked that up and it looks quite probable it's that; since I have all the risk factors it lists (sudden change in activity levels - gone from basically sedentary to a daily exercise since I quit smoking, wearing trainers that don't support or cushion properly, running on hard surfaces, being overweight, feet that roll inwards... 'over-protonation' which is, I believe what I had to get special shoes for last time (these current trainers that I used), and weak ankles and/or tight calf muscles... of which I know I've always had the first and possibly have the second... since I'm always tense... and that's part of the problem with RSI which I'm also prone to). Anyway, dang it! Sad I hate my body sometimes... I'm so fucking delicate... I always injure myself doing new things... but I thought 'what could go wrong just running a few tens of metres?'... dang it Sad The advice is just to rest two or three weeks and not run through the pain (which unfortunately I did a bit), put ice packs on it regularly to reduce swelling, and move over to less impactful exercise such as an exercise bike... which is what I suggested anyway. It's a real bugger though; I was looking forward to upping my exercise levels, not having to lower them Sad

Everyone hates those weird, unexplained upswings in weight, amirite?

Well, weird downswings are apparently a thing.

8/4 - 301.8
8/10 - 290.0

I weighed myself yesterday morning and at the cardiologist's office a couple hours later and the results were coherent.

Weird.

By the way, the title of my new dieting book is "I lost 12 pounds in 6 days, and I have no idea how!".

It's sure to be a bestseller.

I've been on a no sugar, no milk, no bread and no processed food diet for 18 days now.
I've lost 4 kilos, that's almost 9 pounds, and, what's the opposite of suffered, I've unsuffered a myriad of other great benefits, the best one in my opinion, unlimitless energy.
In a weird twist of fate, my roster has had me walk 17 hours with clients this week, about a hundred kilometres I reckon.
Not once have I felt lethargic.
This exercise certainly helps my weight loss but I am eating a shitload of food.
I'm not sure I've ever felt so healthy before and clearminded and content.
I'm already quite sure that when this diet ends there will be some permanent changes to my old ways.
I doubt I'll ever put milk or sugar in my tea again and I think coffee may be permanently off the cards.

@Little Lunch

Great job!

I too have adopted many of those habits to a greater or lesser degree. It's almost as if we adopted nearly identical diets, at least in terms of macro nutrients. It works, I've experienced a lot of the same benefits as you.

Cutting processed food is very important I think. So much of it is loaded with absolute shit carbs, same with the other stuff you cut out. The non-carb stuff is IMO of dubious nutritional value.

Protein is where it's at.

My sister's dog died yesterday. I was very close to him. I sat with them while he was put to sleep. It hurt a lot, so I ate three pieces of pizza and a few bites of a brownie sundae. I don't care. I am sadness.

I'd buy it Wink Similar thing for me... couple of days ago basically had to give up on my exercising, even the exercise bike, for the sake of this problem with my leg. Then threw caution (well dieting) to the wind and just ate normally/bingily (spaghetti bolognese, loads of cereal, half a tub of Ben and Jerry's, and other stuff) for a day, whilst basically laid up in bed. And the next day I was surprisingly 13 stone 2, which is the lowest I've been since starting all this dieting. And then the same today - not quite as bingily eating yesterday as the day before but still throwing caution to the wind... so, yeah, weird.
