Why does science always upstage God?

That would be a subjectivist contention. Are you prepared to argue that 2 and 2 is only 4 based on the specifics of a particular agent, in this case, it's existence?

I don't think that's true. I think that in a world with or without a god, taking two pebbles from one hand and adding them to the other hand, already holding two pebbles, leaves a person with four pebbles in that hand. The addition or subtraction of gods, one or one million, doesn't appear to effect the sum.

This can be repeated with moral concerns. Nothing is objectively good or bad based on whether a god exists. Any given thing, if it's objectively good or bad, would be so regardless of the existence or apprehensions or opinions of any given subject by definition.

I'm not speaking to all atheists about brewers truth claim, I was speaking to brewer.

So much for the atheist worldview™...I guess?

I noticed you never got around to answering whether you think that the mountain of gods man has worshipped are made up or real.

Can I ask you some yes/no questions:

Do you believe that the universe is only material?

I certainly know many inconsistent belief systems in christians and their lives, therefore, according to your logic christianity belief is not ture.

Wait, let me guess, the inconsistent christians are not doing it right.

I never said man has always had gods. I said all of the evidence points at man having always had gods. There is no godless society. There just isn't. Perhaps there could have been, but the evidence is overwhelming against that idea.

Except it doesn't? We give gods up to 90k years, based on evidence at least. A drop in the bucket. Their place in contemporary society isn't even as secure as it once was. The whole thing is kind of pointless anyway. There are always people who believe things - it doesn't speak to their truth. The majority of those god beliefs you yourself believe to have been made up. All but one, in fact. You probably even have gripes about the west turning into the godless society of your nightmares.

Yes, Christians live inconsistently. No argument there. Still, that says nothing about Christianity, except that we don't live it out perfectly. Actually, trying very hard to live a Christian life and failing to do so is very consistent with Christianity. In fact, that struggle is addressed over and over in the Bible. That's why we need Jesus.

There are no inconsistencies in the "Christian belief system". I'm not sure what you mean by that, but I mean what's in the Bible.

All the parts I've ever seen, yeah.  If a god isn't, that may explain why I've never had that truth revealed, eh? I'm guessing, though, that you and I don't understand the term in the same way. If zues showed up in my living room, for example, that would be a good demonstration of his material character. He can be seen by my meat cameras.

It casts doubt on the idea that man created God and before that man lived without a god concept which is not pointless because brewer made a claim that isn't true.

No, I'm in the industry. Be like asking a teacher if they believed in pencils.

I can cut to the chase on this one though. You'll probably find alot of materialists here who accept biology. That has to do with being..predominantly, educated western citizens. Christians also believe in the materiality of their world and plenty accept biology. Many buddhists are atheists but don't believe that the world is exclusively material and may or may not accept biology.
