If the mass equivalent of that energy is added to the mass of the sun (IOW, the sun's gravitational field is a bit stronger due to this effect than what Isaac Newton would have calculated), then the resulting slightly stronger gravity of the sun explains an 'odd' minor effect noticed previously in the orbit of Mercury around the sun.
