But the humans generally prefer to help others if they can, and living humans are normally more useful in the society than dead ones. So unless they are psychopaths like me, they will try to be helpful to even total strangers.

With the number of depressed members here, maybe you all can consider requesting a dedicated section for it? Maybe if the depressed ones see others struggling similarly and not giving up, they can find some semblance of hope? Though it might do the opposite, but as a discussion forum the best we can really do is give them an outlet.
