No, there is a debate about when oxygen became present on earth, there's now some evidence that oxygen has always been present in earth's atmosphere.

Of course there is, our understanding of the early earth is very incomplete. Often times learning about such things is like putting together a jig saw puzzle without the box. You get part way done and you can sort of see the end the outcome but you may end up a while thinking its donkey when the puzzle is a horse.
