That we Christians too, "were dead in your trespasses and sins, 2in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. 3Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. 4But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:1-4) The only difference is the blood of Christ shed for me, and if you want, shed for you.
Very definitely no thank you. I have no desire to benefit by the blood sacrifice of another human being. But you go ahead and grab al the mana you like. Too bad you're not Catholic so could eat of his flesh and drink of his blood every Sunday.
So long as "sins" are offenses against God and I don't have any gods, there really isn't any need to gut anyone on my account. I suppose the great advance of Christianity is how there is no longer any need to rip the beating hearts of victims from their chests to appease any gods as the Aztecs might have done. Very clever of the Christians to evolve a belief system which preserved the blood magic for all time without the need of new victims. You must feel very modern.
