If you were to teleport yourself to the "edge" to the universe, the light emanating from the closest star would travel to make the edge further away from you. Our universe is expanding towards infinite, but will never reach it, because it does not have infinite matter to spread.
And, no, infinite and eternity does not scare me. Death does.
The big bang to me is like watered down creationism slathered with a bit of science.
Why should death scare you though? There is no suffering after you die by your definition of 'being dead forever', but by mine you will suffer for all eternity living again and again, and experiencing the process of dying again and again. Not a very good prognosis is it? It is literally the equivalent of a living hell, and the buddhists at least have something to look forward to, believing they can eventually beat this cycle and achieve their Nirvana, I however hold no such beliefs. See by my definition of the universe being infinite and eternal that would mean there is an infinite amount of conscious beings out there all experiencing consciousness, and that's why lately I've been leading more to a cosmic source for this consciousness most commonly referred to as 'cosmic consciousness' although like i said it should really have a better name than that. I think that shall be what I work on next, making a better name for it.
