Actually, I posted her job description to also serve as a way to share what she said about the experience. Even though these themes have been posted hundreds of times already and might be old-hat to you guys. (If so, please forgive.)
She said that the exercise made her think that her Mom's Atheism is probably correct. Because "if I actually met whoever got this job, I would be terrified of them". She said that it doesn't work. If this Deity ISN'T perfectly pure and benevolent, then the planet is screwed. If the Deity IS perfectly pure and benevolent, then dealing with us 24/7 might drive it crazy. It would start getting irritated with our failures. Then I suggested "and what if having all of our problems solved FOR us gives us nothing to work for? What if human development is based on overcoming adversity?"
Not bad for 14. I was a total idiot at 14. Gives me hope for the human race.
I'm hoping that some of you guys who are better at making good points for Atheism than I am might be inspired to add to her analysis. Then I could send them to her. I'll give you credit and kudos! (Not waffles, that's Neimenovic's thing . . . what about cupcakes?)
