GC: You are being sickened by the logical conclusions of your own belief system and have thus totally proved my point. If your beliefs differ from those I have implied, or if I have made a mistake in my logic, please point it out.
CL: Thank you for your answer As others have said, why is it at all important for anyone to experience this far inferior life for what is ultimately 0% of their existence, and in doing so risk spending the entire 100% of their existence in the wrong place? We have to make decisions on children's behalf all the time without their consent when they are very young, for their own benefit. Surely this is the best decision we could possibly make. They wake up in paradise, never knowing a second of suffering. What could be better? Would they really complain about this, and demand a chance to suffer in this world and possibly miss out on the paradise altogether?
And then there's my third point, about picking the right religion. Even if your kid lives the perfect life and does everything God says, they may still pick the wrong religion and end up in hell. Are you happy taking that gamble on their behalf? You can hardly say someone chooses Hell if they've simply been praying to the wrong God.
