Giving shelter for thise fleeing war zones is fine, what worries me is how we encourage these people to integrate into their host nation as experience shows that we fail.
I've seen the conditions in the slums near Paris and we have huge gatherings of insular Muslim communities in the UK (Bradford, Rochdale, North London etc). If these immigrants are allowed to move to these areas (and they likely will as it's more attractive to be in a micro culture within a larger society) then that will not help the situation.
They need to be given the chance to fully integrate rather than hide away in mini Islamic states dotted around the country.
