My opinion on imigrants from Syria.

Maybe chaos in the ME is exactly what the west wants?
To all Western governments, life is just commodities, and collateral damage is part of war. Why the fuck doesn't the ME join together and solve their own issues? It's like 5 states in the US are having a civil war and the other states saying: don't get involved.
Why do they need the west to save them from themselves?

I don't know how chaos in the Middle East benefits the west? Supply of war commodities is just one very small segment of the economic dynamics there. Plus if reports are to be believed the Russians have moved into support Assad with cash and weapons of their own, which demonstrably does *not* benefit the west, bracketing out, you know, the massive flow of people who are most unwanted into the EU.

People need to stop this perpetual blaming of the west for every issue that occurs in the ME. What we *should* have done in Syria as actively support the initial secular, moderate voice that started off the movement to usurp the brutal Assad regime. But we didn't intervene, and now all those people have lost their heads, or have been thrown off walls with their arms bound to explode in a gory mess whilst their families and friends are forced to watch.

The west is responsible for a lot, yes, but there is a pervasive and destructive discourse that exists at the moment that appears to say "west = bad, everything else = ok". It's utter bullshit and it needs to stop if we're going to have a constructive debate and maybe bash out a solution (not aimed at you, just in general).

Case in point, and as min has said, the richest and most capable states in the ME view Syrians with contempt. The racism , bigotry and segregation that occurred in the USA is nothing compared to the level of disdain that Saudis have for everything who is isn't of like background/upbringing/ethnicity/nationality. State enforced racism is a common practice in the conservative states, which is why they'd rather shoot up their Beamers and Mercs than Let in a starving Syrian.
