Looks like there was more to the story after all. The kid did not invent or make the clock. He disassembled an old digital clock and packaged it to look like a bomb.





Looks like his stunt succeeded. But it might not have been a stunt.

So apparently anything with wires is considered a bomb now adays

Heh heh. Prove that is his Clock. 
I have seen that picture quite a few times, and tried to find the actual source. Not even Fox News talked about it, which tells me that they have some amount of fact checking(SURPRISE; MOTHAFUCKA), and they thought it was invalid. 
I am guessing that some Conservative Adult did that, specifically an Islamiphobic or Racist one.
