I have a student in one of my classes. She's a BRILLIANT student. She could easily get into any college she wanted. But she can't afford it. Her family is in a lot of debt, and she'll be lucky to get to go to college at all.
I think people are going a bit far with giving him all this stuff. The invitation to Astronomy Night at the White House? Okay. Microsoft giving him all sorts of stuff? really? I think it's great to encourage the minds of children to learn. But I also think that can be done without a bunch of free stuff.
That's life. Some people get lucky breaks. I don't blame this kid for happening to be the one.
