Yep. It's a fairly common expression over here, at least. Basically you ask someone to do something for you - fetch a beer or whatever - and they respond with that. It can also be employed with the word "servant". It's humorous banter, of sorts. I like to reply to the question of what the servant/slave died from with "nothing - yet. They've all done as they're told".
But the publication of private conversation? Yeah, you don't want to do that.
