Their idea of Utopia is a world where Jesus has returned, the Antichrist destroyed, and Jesus rules the planet as the ultimate dictator. In the process of ousting all human governments, Jesus will make the blood run in rivers across the land, and in the plain of Megiddo, blood will rise as high as the horses' bridles. (They never discuss the idea that Armageddon will be fought on horseback . . . ) They get positively rapturous over the thought of all that blood, and the death of all the unbelievers (non-pentecostal xtians) and all evil human beings. Their heaven-on-earth is a Theocracy and genocide. They pray that they will be able to watch the murder of 7+ billion human beings, and then take their places as rulers in the new kingdom. They are no different from fundamentalist, extremist Muslims in this matter.
Phil Robertson -- go for it, that guy is beyond sick. I can't believe there wasn't a bigger backlash over his public fantasy of raping and murdering atheists.
yeah I think I will go ahead and do that, not right this second but in the near future.
This kind of speaks to an issue I've been thinking about for a while, being the system that religion uses to exalt itself as holy for doing things that anyone can see are evil and immoral.
They've taken many manuscripts written by a verity of people over the course of generations and compiled them all together so that they can point to kindness, and altruism and claim their Jesus was and is the source of it all, then they can turn for example to numbers 31, V. 16-18
14 Moses was angry with the officers of the army—the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds—who returned from the battle.
15 “Have you allowed all the women to live?” he asked them. 16 “They were the ones who followed Balaam’s advice and enticed the Israelites to be unfaithful to the Lord in the Peor incident, so that a plague struck the Lord’s people. 17 Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, 18 but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.
with this they can convince their followers that it is goodness for them to commit any horrifying act because they claim Jesus wants them to worship the god of Moses, and if Moses can commit a mass atrocity in the name of god and be exalted as a holy man, then anything they do to a person their religion chooses to hate is automatically cleared as an act of "goodness"
Frankly, at this point in my life the very word "goodness" makes me want to friggen puke. I'm not kidding either, the sound of it or sight of it in text literally makes me feel a bit ill. I'm not joking either, it really does.
