That aside, if it's affordable, trained, armed, and inconspicuous,  security might solve the problem or at least really lower the number of deaths per incident.

I don't care what the cost of this, I would pay it. My kids are more important than my money.

There's only so much money.  I have kids and other people I care about.  Do we spend what we have on health care, welfare, better police, global warming, or what?  That's why money matters.  It's a kind of rationing.  And we can't do it all.
