What you don't understand is that God is merciful and kind.

Hell was made comfortable by God, in his mercy. There is beautiful scenery, pubs and sports recreation. There is also a fiery pit with demons ready to shred to pieces the sinful - this is only because the Catholics insisted on it. So you see - he is a very compassionate God.
