But that's not what I asked. I chose the phrase "would be considered wrong by modern standards" with precision; and I don't expect you to have firsthand, in-depth knowledge of other cultures. Perhaps try again?
no i think by modern standards what jesus taught would be acceptable aka "right" in our culture (im American) although our culture today is different than that one and so some teachings do not apply because it is absent from our culture.

The latter is just a nicer way of saying the same thing, and we know christians have taken that kind of idea seriously. People have been killed and persecuted by christians for spreading a different religion, or just not converting to christianity. What good does it do to try to soften it when historically people have done exactly that sort of thing, and could easily use the bible to justify it?
i agree with you on that christians have definately used the information in the Bible as justification for horrible acts .
Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today
Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you will join us And the world will be as one - John Lennon
