Does anyone else find this more than a little creepy?
What is it with the religious obsession with virginity - especially female virginity?
Christianity has always been completely patriarchal and anti-women. Again and again the authors of the Bible remind us that although a woman can be useful when she keeps her mouth shut, she is a sub-set of human and only useful as a baby factory or an amusement. Kidnap them, rape them, kill them - the Bible makes it clear that they are expendable and this notion of purity and chastity directly reflects the general consensus of women being considered livestock when it comes to breeding.
You can't let your prize horse out of the pen to risk damage to it. I'll say it again, women were livestock to these goat herders and to this day "purity" is how the religious continue to devalue women. It reduces the female gender to one thing. It belittles the education of young women. It tells your daughter that she matters only because she has an "un-used" vagina and someone will now be willing to mate with her. It's disgusting. Christianity is disgusting, and to endorse this sort of "purity" rhetoric makes you a gullible primitive.
Sex is the most natural thing on the planet, and a confident powerful single woman is sexy as hell. It's a shame that so many females are still falling prey to the lies that are told by men who have no understanding of that ancient book that poisons their own minds.
