He was like...20-ish when he knocked up Princess Natalie Portman? Luke is only about 20 or so by the time the original trilogy concludes.(October 21, 2015 at 10:19 pm)Chuck Wrote: I have a question. When Jedi becomes one with the force and become a spooky glowing apparition, does that happen just before death, at the moment of death, or some considerable time after death?
It seem to me Vader had to have died for some time before Luke can haul the body down to Ewokland, build a pyre, and consign the lord of sith to flames. The glowy apparition with a smug knowing smile didn't appear until the corpse is well past medium rare. What was anakin's living force doing during that time?
Sorry, had to ask.
What I've always wondered about the revised edition of ROTJ is why Obi Wan is an old man, Yoda is ancient, yet Anakin shows up represented in the prime of life. WTF Lucas?!?
As to how the hell one learns to be a blue glowie in the first place, I have to agree with others that it was not adequately explained in the movies. I love the original Trilogy, but there are some (gaping) plot holes. It's a space opera, with what amounts to magic, muppet aliens, and some very cheesy dialog, so it's one of those things you just gotta get over, IMO.
It's like bitching that Klingons now have ridges on their foreheads, when they did not in TOS. It's a sci-fi spanning decades, written and acted in by numerous different people with different ideas, some of them outlandishly bad but now part of cannon. You just gotta go with the flow, or tell it all to fuck off. I'm a go with the flow kind of person (although Revenge of the Sith almost made me hate Star Wars).
Hell, at least we are getting to see this universe. Robert Jordan's WoT only got a shitty, poorly made pilot, aired at 1:30 in the morning so a company could keep holding the IP and doing nothing with it. It deserves better.
Um...sorry, kind of ranted on there.
