Well, it sounds to me like you would be describing manslaughter. If it's done in the heat of the moment, then I would never call it murder. The law might disagree of course. And if there's any element of self preservation (or the preservation of others) then that's a big mitigating factor.
Or are you saying lots of plotted murders go on among families? I would have thought that either you are messed up in the head to do this, or else the conditions you are in have got to you and you're not in your right mind anymore. The latter case is certainly a condition for leniency in the future.
