Consider the lunatic Scientologists. They know full well that their system is complete BS and that it was started as pure BS. But they still believe in it. The same is true for all religions throughout history. It's an obvious sign that people are mentally ill. It's easier to overcome stupidity than it is to overcome lunacy.
