No, only those who have had a decent education in modern science and still chooses to believe in God are cognitively deficient or insane.   Otherwise they are simply uneducated, or undereducated, or were bamboozled when told what they had qualified as education befitting a society almost 4 centuries beyond the start of the Age of Enlightenment.

Perhaps you should read up on compartmentalization as a cognitive phenomenon.

Compartmentalization in this case is but a euphemism for cognitive dissonance.

There is no doubt some of the insane, the cognitively dissonant, and the uneducated are brilliant.   That doesn't mean they are therefore either right where their afflictions have effected them, or their defects less of a defect or less problematic as a defect.
