Most Americans will be perfectly happy living under sharia since they are such Puritans.

So the conviction should be overturned/amended?

I suppose you or no one you've known has never done what the boy did as a teen?  The fact that people convicted of sex crimes are placed on a register for years is a violation of the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment.  People who commit worse crimes are not placed on such registers.  The only reason why people who commit sex crimes are placed on such registers is because Americans are basically Puritans and regard sex as something "evil".  They will be completely happy living under sharia.
