The first quote doesn't merely say Allah forgives sins. It says he forgives ALL sins. So even if the second quote is only talking about one particularly horrible sin that Allah doesn't forgive, it is still a blatant contradiction.

I disagree, because you also have to complement the other verse (which I quoted in my earlier post) with the verse that says that Allah forgives ALL sins to complete the whole picture. That's how we understand the Quran. We don't just take a small verse from the Quran and look at it separately as if there are no other verses in the Quran which can complement nor add anything to it's meaning. So that's not a blatant contradiction.
