The Christian idea of the "Holy Spirit" is that it's a part of God that inhabits the hearts of all Christians who have accepted Jesus. Seriously.
There's no real equilavent of Holy Spirit in Islam. There are some refferences to "The Spirit" and it is widely believed -by scholars- this refer to Gabriel but there's no consensus. For an ordinary muslim Gabriel is the messenger angel. His main duty to deliver Allah's messages to prophets.
