Yes dark elf I am the insulting one... sure thing.
So if I use the arugments of another I am dumb or wrong? The fact is any arguement anyone of us use has been said before.
Its uncomfortable for you to accept the validity of my beliefs. Its uncomfortable for me to accept the validity of a Muslims beliefs but I do. I do not believe a Muslim is right, likewise I do not believe an atheist is right, but I accept the validity of their beliefs. The fact is one must draw the line somewhere, as you what beliefs are properly basic (a-priori) and which are not. I sincerely believe that belief in God can be properly basic, especially as a rational explanation for intrinsic value, and existance in general. Many of the greatest minds of all time have come to the conclusion, like Leibniz, Decarts, Aristotle, Aquinas, et al.
I understand that great minds have come to the decision that atheism is reality, like Bertrand Russel, and David Hume. I just recepectfully disagree with their assumptions and rationale.
Listen dark elf, the fact is min said the Christianity was started by Constantine and his gang of thugs. I'm sure he as joking, but its still a stupid thing to say, as it is false. I merely pointed this out.
Also, I have put forth no arguement as to why Theism is true. As that cannot be done. I merely stated facts, like our belief is valid within itself, as it begins with properly basic assumptions which are suprarational. I merely argue that Theism is valid, and it is valid because we all believe in intrinsic value, right and wrong, and our own existance, and these are not insane beliefs to hold. If anything claiming that child rape is not really evil, that its just an illusion, that its only evil relative to you and your group is insane. But it is valid, taking the assumption that there is only the material realm.
So I have respect for atheists and muslims et al. Because they make sense on some level, I just believe ultimately Christianity makes the most sense. But I understand that it is a difficult subject and I do not expect everyone to come to the same conclusion as I have because it is difficult. A lot of my problem on this forum has been insulting those who insult me first, which just causes everyone to come to the aid of their friend, and frankly I don't blame them, I come to the aid of my friends too. I probably should have just "turned the other cheek" becuase "an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." So I am going to try and stop insulting in general, even if I am provoked, for the sake of rational conversation.
I have argued things like, the Church is evil relative to other institutions because I believe that this can be argued.
Quote: You have NOT put forward any argument in favour of your 'skydaddy' that wasn't put there by the catatonic church.
