Energy created nor destroyed.

Energy created nor destroyed.
Hello,

I was debating with a Christian friend of mine resently and she had an interesting thought about how god religion ect. Exist. She states that sense the soul, what makes us who were are, are electrical and chemical instances in our brian, essentially energy, that sense energy can noy be created nor destroyed then thqt proves that when the physical body ceased to exist the 'soul' of a person lives on by energy. In that she stated that that proves religion and afterlife are real. So i ask for any thoughts on the matter as i personally think it's a bit to far fetched.

RE: Energy created nor destroyed.
When you die, the chemical energy that your brain and body use simply dissipates. It is not destroyed, rather, it is passed on to the various small lifeforms that help our body decompose.
"Every luxury has a deep price. Every indulgence, a cosmic cost. Each fiber of pleasure you experience causes equivalent pain somewhere else. This is the first law of emodynamics [sic]. Joy can be neither created nor destroyed. The balance of happiness is constant.

Fact: Every time you eat a bite of cake, someone gets horsewhipped.

Facter: Every time two people kiss, an orphanage collapses.

Factest: Every time a baby is born, an innocent animal is severely mocked for its physical appearance. Don't be a pleasure hog. Your every smile is a dagger. Happiness is murder.

Vote "yes" on Proposition 1321. Think of some kids. Some kids."

RE: Energy created nor destroyed.
When energy passes through the food chain, it is used and transformed into other types of energy, and so the amount of energy decreases with every level of the food chain. When you die, the saprofites eat your body and absorb whatever energy there was left. It isn't destroyed, simply passed on again.

RE: Energy created nor destroyed.
The mind is not the energy itself, but lies in the structures which the energy forms, and *they* can be destroyed: while Energy is conserved, Entropy is not, and Entropy is a more relevant quantity for the purposes of this discussion.

Cheers

No evidence for any continued existence after death, the body cools, giving it's heat to the surroundings, the chemical energy in the body (and brain) is passed to the bacteria that decompose it (or to the flames in a cremation).
After death you will only exist in the memory of those who knew you, asking where you go after that is like asking where the music goes when the band stops playing
The meek shall inherit the Earth, the rest of us will fly to the stars.

Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups

Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in mud ..... after a while you realise that the pig likes it!

Energy cannot retain a pattern without the use of matter.

In my post I don't distinguish between energy and matter...
