But sometimes I see it coming down to the question of who's really poking who? I suspect most trolls know what they are doing, and that we may underestimate their expectation of what will happen when they post their shit here, therefore...

Its not a religion, its healthy questioning skepticism, when one claims there is the supernatural without evidence its an issue for me. You claim a divine power it demands even more evidence. And by evidence I mean empirical scientific evidence which can be properly vetted by peers to verify its veracity or not. That's it.

So we demand this of the trolls even when we already suspect what they're up to, give them the chance. They then drop their dogmatic bullshit, and we dismantle it bit by bit. If it weren't for the possibility (and I'm not sure how big this is) that caring lurkers may benefit from our efforts to clear up any confusion caused by trolls, it would be a complete waste of time. Then troll repeats the same exact bullshit as before, as if you had addressed none of it, and that's when its trollishness has been established enough that you should treat it like one. From this point going forward, those who have witnessed this should never respond to him again, not over anything.
