Actions speak louder than words, and until atheists/skeptics/humanists have organised communities that embody the beliefs and values they espouse, all the talk in the world is useless.
So, take a long term view, and worry less about "evangelizing" to your family and friends, and worry more about building a community that people can point to and understand what you're all about.
Remember, Christians didn't arrive at their beliefs via rationality, they acquired them via convenience in a community. And if you give them a convenient alternative community to switch to, they're much more likely to be open to your views.
