I'm a lawyer. Right now I work for a judge as a law clerk (pretty common starting job out of law school, pay is not good but experience is really positive/helpful). Between student loans (which are large), rent, food, car, and such I don't have a whole ton of money to spend month-to-month, although I do save up to treat myself to things I enjoy (like, budgeting maybe $50 monthly to golf in the summer). I'm 16 months through the 2 year term working for the judge. Pretty soon, I'll figure out where I'm going next. If it's a law firm, which I suspect it will be, it will pay a good deal more than the current job. I'm putting about $100 per month into savings right now (which I occasionally have to dip into when something major comes up); my goal by the end of 2016 would be to get that a lot higher.

Don't worry, my friend. If this be the end, then so shall it be.
