I wouldn't tackle all those 3 at once, full-speed. More specifically, I am not tackling all 3 of those like I should, but here's what's helped me when i didn't feel like going on a full-scale diet.
I got roughly three rules for food:
-stop eating before I feel full, eat enough to be ok, but left with the feeling that I could eat more.
-when i have the choice, i pick non-fried food, with as little fat possible.
-junk food once or twice a week
3 months into it (plus walking up stairs to the 3rd floor of my gf's flat) I had already lost a good measure of my "love handles."
As far as my smoking is concerned, I won't stop yet, because frankly, I don't feel like quitting, so I can't help ya there. I am aware, however, that quitting now will be easier than quitting in a few years, so I'm 'mentalizing' December as my quitting month.
As far as drinking is concerned, just be aware that whatever you put in, will make you fat. Have fun and drink a lot but less times.
I think sex helps too.
Once you see progress with one thing, you'll feel more motivated to keep going, and perhaps trying tackling other things.
That's just my 2 pesos.
