the Quran says about Alcohol
They ask you about wine and gambling. Say, "In them is great sin and [yet, some] benefit for people. But their sin is greater than their benefit." And they ask you what they should spend. Say, "The excess [beyond needs]." Thus Allah makes clear to you the verses [of revelation] that you might give thought.
So, what you're saying is: Hospitals should not benefit from being clean? I don't know about you, but where I'm from, people use alcoholic soap/gel because it's amoungst the best and cheapest ways to fight germs and alcohol is used for first aid too. Using alcoholic medical products has saved millions of lives over the years (the number isn't actually quantifiable, but I'm certain it's in millions) .
Second: Alcohol is cleaner than fossil fuels. It can help replace fossil fuels and save millions more lives. And the improved air quality will reduce respiratory problems - resulting in a higher quality of living for all. It is considered renewable (e.g. Ethanol) and it's relatively cheap to make.
Alcohol clearly has at least as many benefits, as it has saved millions of lives, as drawbacks, so spare me the lecture. The health of everyone would be better if only society used a bit more alcohol. It may seem ironic, but it really shouldn't be strange. Therefore, the verse is wrong. Gambling I disagree with so I'm not going to attempt to defend that.
