I imagine everyone has a sliding scale of grief over the news of deaths and such, depending on how close they are to the deceased.
I'd be very surprised if there was anyone who took the news exactly the same no matter who died. (Unless the reaction was to not care in all instances.)
What exactly a psycopath/sociopath is, and what the difference is, seems to be rather unclear to me. A lack of empathy seems to be part of it. I've heard them defined in lots of different ways. Of course, the difference between a psychopath and a murderer is the like difference between a paedophile and a child molester.
