As much as I dislike religion, I think I'd also have to be against banning it outright. There's obviously a huge demand for religious services and the apparent benefits it offers, and history shows that if we ban something desirable, people will always find ways to satisfy their need for it.
Ideally, I hope our societies would start to evolve away from religion, gradually replacing it with something more beneficial for the world.
I do agree with this, however. If there was a way to protect future generations from the intellectual slavery and enforced close-mindedness of religious indoctrination, I would. I find it despicable when dogma is forced down the throats of young children who have no choice in the matter.
