I'm curious to know which websites you personally avoid like the plague and why. I have a list of them I boycott for a variety of reasons and simply wanted to know if I'm the only one here. Websites you regard as cringe-worthy at the mere mention of, sites you recoil from with distain, the glimpse of forces you to vomit blood at your monitor, not literally obviously. ^^ I'll start:
GameSpot.
ARGH. For those of you who don't know why, back in 2007 Jeff Gerstmann, the site's long-time editorial director was dismissed for giving a poor review and well-deserved bashing of "Kane & Lynch", a pretty all-round awful game, subsequently offending producers Eidos who had purchased considerable advertising space on said site (By today's standards it would be the equivalent of Gametrailers stating that Pringles taste like shit after all the trouble Procter & Gamble went to making massive ads that could slow down a f**king supercomputer even). Another member of editing staff, Alex Navarro resigned not long after this messy incident.
They lost all credibility to me after that, and they will never regain it.
