So... I take it that this means that adoption is out? I don't see how this doesn't apply as child abandonment according 'from a religious person's viewpoint'.
Adoption when the child's parents are both dead? That's fine. And it is abandonment from any point of view to *abandon* it, thus necessitating it be adopted by another.
