I'm against the death penalty mainly for the reason that there can be no guarantee that an innocent person will not be put to death for a crime they did not commit.
I would rather see a guilty person go free than see an innocent person die.
Having said that, if someone hurt a member of my family in such a way that would warrant a death sentence, and the courts were in no doubt that the accused was the perpetrator, I would gladly volunteer to flip the switch.
