The financial system is set up so that there will always be a percentage of people who go broke. This is because there is more debt than available money. When you take out a loan, it needs to be repaid back in full plus with interest. We do not live in a meritocracy. Keller could just as easily have found himself homeless on the streets if circumstances had been different for him.
