A million people in Britain marched against the second Iraq war. Are they morally responsible for the deaths in that conflict?
One of the main things that escalates war is people's willingness to transfer moral responsibility for the actions of a small group of people to all of the people who share a common characteristic with the culprits. A Jew did this, therefore it's the fault of all Jews. A Muslim did this, therefore all Muslims are scum, etc.
We sleep at night precisely because we know this.
Oh, and our God lets us drink alcohol, which helps.
