Overthrowing oppressive regimes by military force

PITTSBURGH, Dec. 16 , 1933(AP). -- Pointing to "grave danger of armed conflict with Europe," R. D. Blumenfeld, American-reared English editor, yesterday called upon President Roosevelt to use dictatorial powers "to bring the world to its senses."

It takes a special class of crazy to think that in 1933 the US had the power to do much of anything.  We were totally fucked flat by the depression.

In 1939 the US Army ranked 19th in the world.  Behind Portugal, as a matter of fact.  We weren't dictating shit to anyone.

But the economy would have improved very fast once the US started its world conquest, just like it did as a result of WWII.
