I know this is an old post but I wanted to stimulate my argumentative side of me. A kick start if you will. I'm always at my best after a good long break.
Quote:no hard evidence something comes from nothing,No evidence to say it came from god either.
Quote:Something can't come from nothing (non-existence)Can you back up that assertion? Plus, ever considered that the universe had always existed? Eliminating the need for a god to start it off? Or did you just jump to the whole god thing because it's what you want to be true? Which seems more and more likely the more I debate with theists.
Quote: Energy can be neither created nor destroyed. So how did god do it?
Quote:Since nature can't always have existed nor start up from nothingAnything to back that up with?
Quote:The lesser can never produce the greater.Ah huh. If that were true evolution would be false. Small singular celled bacteria over millions of years evolved to become far more complex lifeforms. Star dust through out the cosmos gather and clump together to form stars, planets, solar systems and galaxies. To say "the lesser does not produce the greater" is to make a claim so huge, that in order to even slightly support is to contradict everything we know now about the universe. The lesser does indeed become the greater. It does so all on there own, which is what makes it all so damn amazing and wonderful.
Quote:we should submit ourselves to this evidence, because if a person doesn't, they will surely go to Hell according to Jesus our Creator. What evidence? Also, you're threatening us with hell now? Care to first prove that there is such a place?

I've been away for a bit again because I've been in contact with Jessica's sister. So far diplomacy is in play but relations are pretty bad. Trying to arrange a little talk, and I'm at a make or break deal. If I can ease tension and gain some friendly talks, all is good, but if I fail, all is over. Currently waiting for her to respond. Once I've sorted this relations problem out, I'll be on here much more.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.
