Too true, it's the fucking over of young minds that will cause this madness to continue.
If we can somehow persuade everyone to stop indoctrinating, I feel the world would be a much better place for it. How that is to be achieved, I don't know. Hopefully through peaceful mutual understanding and discussion; but obviously that's unrealistic regarding some people/societies at present.
If we can't even persuade people in the West to stop indoctrinating their children, we've got fuck all chance of influencing the East.
Bottom line: virtually no one is going to blow themselves up to kill a bunch of random people unless religious nonsense has been jammed into their head. Every person who "believes" and perpetuates these oral myths is playing a small part in keeping this all going. And I'm talking about every religion, not just Islam. Everyone who spreads the idea that "faith" is a good idea is keeping this circle of ignorance going.
I'm not saying peaceful religious people are accountable for the violence. Of course not. I'm saying they are pawns in the larger game of keeping indoctrination going, and religious ideas being given credibility. This provides the framework for the much more harmful lunacy to be propped up on.
What are the chances that someone who was not raised Muslim could be "brainwashed" into joining ISIS? The seeds have already been planted by the indoctrination they almost certainly had as a child. Even if they're told what a peaceful religion it is, it's exactly the same God and the same book as ISIS revere. There's no getting away from that, until they literally do get away from that.
How totally sad it all is.
