To the other people involved in this discussion, am I just banging my head against the wall here?
Welcome to this thread Pope.
Unfortunately i got bad news for you.
The space between here and there is something.
7 is a special number.
According to yoga there is consciousness, mind, space, air, light, water and matter.
All these 7 elements must be there for the universe to exist.
Suppose you (your consciousness) start creating something in your (mind).
You need a (space) to put this creation inside.
In order for this creation to manifest it need (air), (light), (water) and (matter).
This is how the system works but of course you are free to think that space is not needed.
That is up to you so you may think that the creation is spaceless.
In this case you will have to think of an alternative and suggest God to do without space.
You never know Pope.
The next time God create a universe he may pick up your tip and do without space.

To summarise space is a very important element.
The universe just could not do without and an element like space is not nothing.
On the contrary it is something very very important in the creation of this universe.
Just imagine if there wouldn't be the space in between planets or stars.
You could walk to the moon but of course this idea is bankrupt.
Space is there, it exist so it is not nothing.
